This is an unclassified, full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position. Position Description and Responsibilities: Coordinates linking, federated searching, and other projects to enhance electronic access to Library resources. Supports development of policies and procedures for managing electronic resources. Creates and analyzes statistical reports on electronic resource usage. Implements web page design and development, participates in management of web site, and addresses issues related to copyright compliance. Participates in the selection, installation, and maintenance of equipment and software. Serves as liaison with University's Information Technology and Computing departments in technical issues affecting library resources and services. Provides technical assistance and expertise to library staff and patrons. Participates in professional development. Requirements: MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution (or equivalent). Demonstrated competencies in managing and troubleshooting electronic resources. Understanding of practices and trends in using licensed electronic resources and other digital content, such as open URL access, federated searching, course management systems, and electronic resource management software. Working knowledge of web authoring programs and related web-based technologies such as XML, XSL, CSS, RSS, and JavaScript. Experience in use of office software as well as library-specific applications. Strong working knowledge of PC hardware, Windows-based applications, and the uses and configuration of library staff and public workstations. Aptitude for detail-oriented work.
