Outreach/Reference Librarian & Assistant Professor

The University of Mississippi Libraries seeks a creative and dynamic
Outreach/Reference Librarian to provide direction and leadership for
outreach services to our patrons. 
Under the direction of the Head of Information, Outreach and Delivery
Services, the successful candidate will: 
-develop, promote, and provide creative programs and activities to market
the collections and services of the University of Mississippi Libraries to
our students and faculty/staff
-programs and activities include, but are not limited to creating online
activities such as web pages, podcasts, Facebook ads, RSS feeds, and
online tutorials; presentations to groups; creating advertisements,
brochures, and other promotional materials
-provide library instruction, reference services at a general reference
desk including evenings, and virtual reference services.
-collection development in assigned areas of responsibility
Qualifications: ALA accredited master's degree by date of employment;
web development skills relevant to online outreach activities, excellent
organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; knowledge of or
course-work in reference methodologies and/or resources.
The position is a 12-month, tenure-track faculty appointment reporting to
the Head of Information, Outreach, and Delivery Services.  Minimum annual
salary is $38,000.
