Electronic Resources Librarian (Full-time) --  Luzerne County Community
College -- Pennsylvania
 

Library: Electronic Resources Librarian. Academic rank:
Instructor. Education: Master's Degree from an ALA-accredited
library/information science program, or equivalent, or experience
sufficiently relevant to substitute for the ALA-accredited degree.
Experience: Three (3) years' experience in an academic library or
instructional resource center is preferred; experience with managing
electronic resources and library information system is preferred;
experience with copyright and Digital Rights Management is preferred.
Skills: Technology experience relevant to an academic library
automation system; working knowledge of HTML and the ability to
create/maintain Web pages; good understanding of trends in library
services; strong commitment to provide responsive and innovative library
support; strong communications skills; experience in providing instruction
to both groups and individuals; sensitivity to the needs, problems and
challenges associated with the diversity of the community college student
population; ability to function with minimal supervision. Academic
rank: Assistant Professor. Education: Master's Degree from an
ALA-accredited library/information science program, or equivalent, or

Position responsibilities: coordinates and supports the Library's
automation system (SirsiDynix), including routine maintenance and further
software and hardware upgrades; provides technical expertise, advanced
knowledge and independent judgment to diagnose, analyze, and design
solutions for problems with SirsiDynix; coordinates and oversees all
library electronic resources, and assure local and remote access to the
library electronic services; assists in planning and implementing further
development of the library integrated system and other library electronic
services; responsible for the identification, evaluation, selection, and
implementation of electronic resources, including Internet accessible
resources; maintains usage statistics to evaluate and assess use of
electronic resources; designs and maintains a Virtual Library on the
college home page; provides ongoing training for students and staff
menders to access the public online catalog, online journals, and the
Internet information sources; develops handouts for bibliographical
instructions; keeps informed of the most recent developments concerning
the Copyright Law; serves a general liaison with on-campus or external
computing providers and other local Electronic Resources Librarians;
participates in collection development especially in non-print materials;
provides reference desk service and rotating evening and weekend schedules
with library staff; provides typical circulation desk services if needed;
travels between campuses if needed; attends regularly scheduled general
faculty and departmental meeting and commencement exercises of the
College; available to serve as a member of one College committee or one
special committee and attends all meetings; performs other duties as
assigned by the Director of Learning Resources. Please send a cover
