Director of the Lorette Wilmot Library and Media Center --  Nazareth
College of Rochester -- New York
 
Director of theLorette Wilmot Library and Media Center
Nazareth College of Rochester invites applications and nominations for the
position of Director of the Lorette Wilmot Library and Media Center. The
library director reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and
is a vital member of her cabinet. The new director will administer a
technologically advanced multimedia environment supporting research and
production and including over 265,000 volumes, 1450 printed journal
subscriptions and access to 30,000 electronic journal titles; there are 14
professional staff and 14 support staff.The successful candidate will:*
Work collaboratively with the VPAA, Deans, faculty and library staff to
develop a strategic direction for the library's scholarly and
technological mission coherent with the institution's mission and
strategic plan* Partner actively with the Associate VP for Technology and
Campus Operations and the Institutional Technology staff to use resources
strategically and to provide effective and efficient services using the
best technology available at all levels of library functioning* Be an
energetic spokesperson for the library's needs and staff while remaining
patron-centered and aware of the library's place in the larger needs
structure of the institution, including its diverse relationships with
faculty, administration, staff and students and the broader community* Be
a seasoned administrator with strong interpersonal skills, proven
experience in budget preparation and administration, facilities
management, resource allocation, and human resource management as well as
external resource development.Qualifications: Master's degree from an
ALA-accredited program and a second Master's degree in a scholarly content
area or an earned doctorate; minimum of eight years of progressively
responsible administrative experience in academic libraries; a
demonstrated understanding of the role of technology in library settings;
a record of professional engagement and a commitment to staff development
and diversity.Nazareth College is a thriving, independent, comprehensive
