Assistant Director for Public Services --  Cleveland State University --
Ohio
 

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR PUBLIC SERVICES
Department:University Library
Start Date:Before January 1, 2008
Duties: Within the setting of a dynamic library environment, provides
direction and leadership for coordination of library services including,
reference, user services, instruction, distance learning library services,
and University Archives. Participates in short and long term planning of
library services. Coordinates librarian personnel operations. Coordinates
library program and student learning outcomes assessment activities. Keeps
up-to-date in librarianship and information technology, and engages in
scholarly, professional, and service activities. Interacts professionally
with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal
skills.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in library
science from an ALA accredited program. Seven years work experience in
libraries, including supervisory experience. Record of successful
management in at least one area of librarianship. Strong customer service
orientation. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication
skills; flexibility and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse
environment. Experience in library program and services assessment. PC
proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications: Requisite project management skills to
implement new programs and services. Familiarity with the academic
environment, research, and scholarship. Knowledge of, and experience with
the use of technology in libraries.
