Librarian - Library Systems Developer --  Wichita State University --
Kansas
 

Library: Wichita State University Libraries invites creative
applicants to apply for the following full-time tenure-track faculty
position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor depending upon
qualifications. Responsibilities: Works with Libraries' staff and
Computing Center personnel to initiate and develop innovative access to
electronic resources employing both Z39.5 and other access technologies. 
Responsible for the integrated library management system (ExLibris
Voyager) including day-to-day operation, maintenance, testing,
troubleshooting, implementation of the advanced functionality and
enhancements. Responsible for SQL-based report generation.  Trains staff
on new Voyager releases. Assists with the design and upkeep of the
Libraries' Web pages. Facilitates the development of campus-wide digital
projects and institutional repositories. Required: MLS/MLIS or
equivalent from an ALA accredited program. Working knowledge of basic SQL
and RDbMS, such as MS Access, MySQL, Oracle, etc. Working knowledge of
HTML, CSS, XML, internet tools and Web authoring.  Knowledge of advances
in the application of information technologies to the library environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently
and in groups. Demonstrated commitment and ability to work effectively with
diverse populations in a collegial environment. Demonstrated potential to
meet the Libraries' tenure and promotion requirements. Must be eligible to
work in the United States on a multi-year basis. Preferred: Experience
with management aspects of a library integrated system especially ExLibris
Voyager LMS.  Experience with the wide range of software products used in
libraries. Working knowledge of Windows Server and UNIX. Experience with
client and server side scripting, ASP, PHP and PERL. Knowledge of
programming languages such as JAVA, VB, C++ or C#.   Experience
working in a Sun Solaris environment. Additional graduate degree. 
Experience with training or instruction. Salary: commensurate with
