Position:  Coordinator, Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery Services

 Description: The University of Delaware Library seeks an innovative, service-oriented Coordinator, Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery Services to lead the delivery of services in a dynamic, user-focused, technology-rich environment.  Provides worldwide access to scholarly resources using state-of-the-art digital technologies and an expanding group of regional and national collaborative relationships.  Represents the Library in interlibrary loan issues and planning in state, regional and national forums.  The position manages all aspects of interlibrary loan and document delivery services, ensures rapid turnaround for users, maintains cooperative working relationships with multiple service networks,  ensures adherence to copyright law applied to interlibrary loan, works collaboratively with other library staff, and suggests and adapts new technologies and services.  The Interlibrary Loan service uses RAPID, OCLC, ARIEL and CLIO to fill requests, provide material, and maintain statistical information along with the Ex Libris 500 integrated library system.   The Coordinator of Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery supervises 3 support staff and 1 FTE student assistants and reports to the Head of the Access Services Department.   Collection development responsibilities with faculty liaison in a subject area may be assigned. 

 Qualifications: Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program and supervisory experience.  Knowledge of national interlibrary loan/document delivery and copyright issues.  Work experience in public service/customer service, a commitment to providing high quality services to library users, and strong interpersonal skills.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Demonstrated organizational skills.  Ability to use technology to meet public service objectives.  Problem-solving skills, flexibility, initiative, resourcefulness, and the demonstrated ability to meet service deadlines.  Preferred:  Work experience with interlibrary loan/document delivery in libraries.  Experience with OCLC WorldCat Resource Sharing system, RAPID, ARIEL, and/or CLIO.

 Salary:  Expect to hire at the rank of Assistant Librarian or Senior Assistant Librarian.  Assistant Librarian rank is entry level for academic librarians with less than 3 years of professional experience.
