Department of Library Science
The Department of Library Science at Clarion University of Pennsylvania seeks
qualified individuals to teach courses in its undergraduate and ALA-accredited
graduate degree program during the 2007/2008 academic year. Clarion delivers
courses in its ALA-accredited graduate program over the World Wide Web and by
on-site instruction at two distance education sites in
Successful candidates will be expected to teach three or four courses per
semester as well as provide support and guidance for the department's rapidly
growing distance education sites in
Minimum qualifications include at least an ALA-accredited master's degree (or
recognized international equivalent), two years of professional library and/or
teaching experience, and excellent written and oral communication skills,
including evidence of public speaking ability. The completion of a successful
interview is also required.
Applications must include:
* Current vita;
* Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended [unofficial
transcripts are acceptable for review purposes];
* Letter of application highlighting the applicant's qualifications and
teaching interests;
* Names and contact information (postal addresses, telephone numbers, email
addresses, etc.) of three references who can speak to the candidates
professional qualifications.
Review of applications will begin April 27, 2007 and will continue until
position is filled.
