Director of Library Services -- Mount Royal College, Lincoln Park Campus
-- Canada

 DIRECTOR OF LIBRARY SERVICES
MOUNT ROYAL COLLEGE

Established in 1910, Mount Royal College is one of the oldest
post-secondary institutions in Alberta. Over the years, MRC has evolved
into one of Canada's finest undergraduate institutions, known widely for
high-quality, market-driven programs - several found nowhere else in the
country. With more than 8,000 students in 65 credit programs -
collaborative degrees, applied baccalaureates, university transfer,
diplomas and certificates and more than 40,000 course registrations in
credit-free programs, Mount Royal is on the move. To meet the changing
needs of the knowledge economy, MRC is charting a path to become a
unique-in-Canada undergraduate institution. By adding baccalaureate
degrees to their program offering while retaining their student-centred,
teaching-first environment, they are building a bold, different
institution that offers unparalleled benefits for their students and
community.
Reporting to the Provost & Vice-President Academic, the Director of
Library Services participates actively as a member of Dean's Council and
provides vision and leadership in planning and managing the College
Library, and directing its contribution to the teaching, applied research
and outreach programs of Mount Royal College. The challenge of growth and
change will require great vision and collaboration with diverse groups
within and external to the College. The new Director of Library Services
will capitalize on the Library's exceptional culture of collegiality and
openness, and enhance this service as the Library continues to grow and
develop.
The ideal candidate will bring academic credentials appropriate to the
leadership of a modern post-secondary library (MLS required) and
outstanding leadership skills, including a commitment to action and a
demonstrated ability to inspire and mobilize others.
All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, however, Canadians and
permanent residents will be given priority. Mount Royal College is an
equal opportunity employer, committed to the principle of equity in
employment.
