THE GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY THE GELMAN LIBRARY SYSTEM Associate
University Librarian for Collections and Scholarly Communication
The Gelman Library System seeks applications from and nominations of
experienced, innovative librarians for the senior-level administrative
position of Associate University Librarian for Collections and Scholarly
Communication. The person who fi lls this position will have the
opportunity to lead a dynamic, multifaceted collections program and to
take a lead role in developing policies and implementing changes not only
in collection development but in the entire organization. This position
reports to the University Librarian and works closely with three other
Associate University Librarians as part of the administrative team that
provides leadership for the library system. Responsibilities include
managing and planning the development of all collections, including both
current and special collections; digital publishing; and the
University-wide scholarly communication program. The successful candidate
will have a minimum of seven years of experience as a professional
librarian or archivist in increasingly responsible positions. For the full
