Director of Library Services --  Linn State Technical College -- Missouri
 

Library: Director of Library Services, Linn State Technical College,
Linn, Missouri. Linn State Technical College, a two-year state technical
college in Linn, Missouri, is seeking a knowledgeable, highly motivated,
and effective library administrator for a dynamic,  challenging, and
technology-intensive library services and resources. This individual will
join a professional librarian, two full-time staff, and six student
assistants serving the main campus along with two branch libraries. Duties
and Responsibilities: Provide leadership and innovation in the library
programs. Provide leadership and facilitation of day-to-day operation of
library; provide energetic, insightful leadership for strategic planning
and project initiation/management; provide guidance of department
heads and faculty; participate in the statewide consortium; and
participate in college-wide committees and activities. Ensure that the
library holdings support the curriculum offered by the College. Develop a
high quality technical library collection in conjunction with faculty.
Teach library instructions, orientations, and workshops to students,
faculty, and staff. Perform other duties as needed or assigned. Required
qualifications: MLS from an ALA-accredited program with minimum three
years' management and supervisory experience in higher education
institutions; strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making
skills; mentoring leadership style that empowers others to excel;
effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; and a
solid technology background. Preferred: Demonstrated initiative in
program development and strong project management skills; evidence
professional staff training and supervisory experience.  Collection
development and cataloging experience.  Significant contribution to
library profession, including organizational leadership, publication, and
presentations. Priority Application deadline: May 18, 2007. Position
will remain open until filled.  Position available July 1, 2007. This is a
12-month, full-time position. Salary commensurate with
