Organizational Unit: Center for Bibliographical Studies and ResearchRank:
Librarian I-VSalary: Salary commensurate with qualifications and
experience within the range of $66,756-$92,436.Position Overview: The
University of California, Riverside seeks a flexible, creative, and
energetic librarian with strong managerial skills and experience. The
Center for Bibliographical Studies and Research (CBSR) currently manages
the English Short Title Catalogue (ESTC), the California Newspaper Project
(CNP), the California Digital Newspaper Collection (CDNC), and The Catálogo
Colectivo de Impresos Latinoamericanos hasta 1851 (CCILA), and other
projects from time to time. The successful candidate for this career
building position will serve as assistant director for the English Short
Title Catalogue; provide on-site supervision for all projects; liaise with
our partners, the British Library and the American Antiquarian Society, as
well as research libraries throughout the world; and represent the Center
at national and international professional and academic meetings, for
which funding will be made available.Responsibilities: Reports to the
Director of the Center for Bibliographical Studies and Research and
supervises 1 librarian, 10 library assistants, and 1 senior clerk; assumes
overall responsibility of the daily management of the CBSR.Required
Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS degree or equivalent; record of
increased management responsibilities over the last five years; personnel
management experience; excellent oral and written communication skills,
with the ability to communicate clearly in a timely and effective manner;
evidence of flexibility, enthusiasm, and collegiality; experience in an
academic library setting; rare book cataloguing experience; demonstrated
experience with OCLC and general database knowledge; demonstrated
commitment to fostering and building a diverse workforce and to supporting
staff development in support of the University's and the Libraries' goals
of excellence and diversity.Desired Qualifications: Budgetary oversight
experience; familiarity with digital projects.Benefits: The University of
