You'll find a special subscription offer at http://chronicle.com/4free/?ej _________________________________________________________________ - The text of the job listing is below - Assistant Professor, Coordinator of Information Literacy and Library Instruction, Kibbhee Library -- Kingsborough Community College -- New York Tenure-track Position The Coordinator of Information Literacy and Library Instruction plans, coordinates, and leads the library's instruction program and its assessment. As a member of the Reader Service team, the Coordinator of Information Literacy and Library Instruction also serves as a reference librarian with desk coverage duties and participates in collection development in one or more subject areas. The successful candidate will be a strong advocate for the library's information literacy role on campus and will be capable of investigating and implementing new ideas and innovations in instruction and information literacy. Candidate must demonstrate and maintain a record of excellence in librarianship, scholarly achievement and service for reappointment, tenure, and promotion. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to formulate ideas clearly in both written and spoken form. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty and students in interpreting and advancing the work of the library in support of learning and teaching and college level reference, teaching and/or library instruction experience are essential, as is knowledge of electronic information resources. Professional library experience providing reference and instruction in an academic library and experience in developing, evaluating and managing effective library instruction programs is preferred.
