Kentucky, a
small (about 5000 people) town located in southeast Kentucky,
along I-75 about 11 miles from Tennessee.
The university has an FTE of about 1570 students, undergraduate and graduate.
University of the Cumberlands, a church-related, liberal arts
university, invites applications for a 12-month tenure-track position in the
Library beginning in August 2007. Responsibilities include providing course
related information literacy and instruction, maintenance of the reference
collection, development of the reference desk schedule, oversight of the
circulation operations of the Library, collaboration on electronic resource
selection, and preparing and maintaining web based tutorials. Evening and
weekend rotation is required. The qualifications for this position include an ALA
accredited MLS, familiarity with ACRL Information Literacy Standards, basic
knowledge of web design, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
