Assistant Cataloger - Technical Services The Roanoke County Public Library (RCPL) system, located in the historic Shenandoah Valley at the base of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, is seeking a qualified person for the Assistant Cataloger position. Our library system, consists of a Main Library, five branches and a collection of over 350,000 items, serves a population of over 85,000 with a very responsive and team-oriented technical services department. The Assistant Cataloger works under the general supervision of the Technical Services Librarian. The Assistant Cataloger must possess a thorough knowledge of the methods and principles of contemporary bibliographic-maintenance standards and practices, including the Anglo-American cataloging rules, Dewey Decimal Classification, Library of Congress subject headings, OCLC/MARC records, and library automation.
