Librarian -- National Park Community College -- Arkansas
National Park Community College is currently seeking a Librarian to work
in the college library. This full time nine month position has an entry
level salary of $35,462 and excellent benefits and will begin in August
2007.The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to perform
original cataloging using the Library of Congress classification system,
supervision of copy cataloging and technical processing staff, excellent
reference skills using both traditional sources and on-line databases, and
participate in the general development of the collection including
electronic resources. Experience with OCLC, community college library
services, reference and circulation duties is preferred.Additional
responsibilities include stacks maintenance, committee assignments,
supervising and training work-study students, commitment to continuing
education, web page design and creation, and development of information
literacy classes.Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree from an
ALA-accredited Library and Information Studies program MLS/MLIS; two or
more years of professional experience with supervisory experience desired;
highly-motivated individual with a propensity towards working independently
and under deadline pressure; excellent online searching skills. This
