Assistant Professor/Head of Cataloging -- Murray State University --
Kentucky
Library: Assistant Professor/Head of Cataloging, University
Libraries, Murray State University. Full-time, tenure-track position to
begin August 2007. ALA-accredited master's degree with demonstrated
management and supervisory experience. Minimum two years' original
cataloging experience; experience with LC classification, LCRI, LCSH, MARC
formats, and AACR2; knowledge of OCLC Connexion. Will provide creative
leadership and overall management, direction and oversight for all
cataloging operations, which includes authority control, database
maintenance, electronic resources management, and metadata creation for
digitization projects. Will develop and implement all policies and systems
in the cataloging area of the library. Will work in conjunction with the
Acquisitions Librarian to provide access to electronic resources and to
newly purchased and donated research materials. Application deadline:
