Chowan University seeks
creative, proactive, enthusiastic, service- oriented applicants for the position
of Reference Librarian- Instruction Coordinator. Position reports to the
Director of Services with an anticipated start date, May 1, 2007. In this
non-tenure track position, the library faculty member is a campus leader,
encouraging new ideas and approaches to instruction, information literacy and
the role of the library. Other responsibilities include providing general
reference service (including weekend and evening hours) and participating in
reference collection development and related public service activities.
ALA-accredited MLS degree or equivalent; effective written and oral
communication skills and a strong public service commitment are required.
Experience working in an academic library environment and experience creating
and maintaining effective web pages and online tutorials are preferred.
