POSITIONS ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Accounting and Information Systems (ACIS) in the School
of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks
applicants for two faculty positions in ACIS effective Fall, 2007.
Information Systems - open rank, tenure earning: Candidates should
hold an appropriate doctorate with specialization in information systems.
The ideal candidate should possess industry (company and consulting)
experience and preference will be given to those who can teach in the
areas of database administration, systems analysis, programming languages,
and/or project management. The candidate will be required to conduct
quality research and teach classes at the undergraduate and graduate
level. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to build
relationships with the business community and to foster student
opportunities in the information systems area. Tenure status, faculty
rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Applicants should submit a letter of application, resume, and three
letters of recommendation to Dr. Tommie Singleton, Search Committee Chair,
Department of Accounting and Information Systems at UAB, BEC 307B, 1530 3rd
Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35294-4460. Search will remain open until a
qualified individual is identified and the available position is filled.
Accounting - open rank, tenure earning: Candidate should hold an
appropriate doctorate and show evidence of a strong commitment to
teaching, research, and service. Candidates with an interest in teaching
in the financial area will be preferred. The candidate will be required
to conduct quality research and teach classes at the undergraduate and
master's levels. Additionally, the candidate(s) will be expected to build
relationships with the business community and foster student opportunities
in the accounting area. Tenure status, faculty rank and salary will be
commensurate with qualifications and experience.
