You'll find a special subscription offer at http://chronicle.com/4free/?ej _________________________________________________________________ - The text of the job listing is below - Reference/Instructional Librarian -- Salisbury University -- Maryland BLACKWELL LIBRARY Reference/Instructional Librarian POSITION: Salisbury University's Blackwell Library seeks a full-time librarian to provide face-to-face and electronic reference services, information literacy based library instruction, and collection development in specific subject areas. The position offers opportunities to work collegially with other librarians and faculty in designing instructional services and library-based assignments, developing information literacy objectives, and selecting library resources. Responsibilities: Serve as liaison to one or more academic departments, provide instructional services, coordinate collection development, and facilitate library/departmental communication. As a member of the Research Services team, provide general reference duty, including evening and weekend rotation. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited program; knowledge of print and electronic reference sources, best practices in reference services and information literacy; subject expertise in one or more disciplines; strong technology and web design skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; good listening, planning, and oral and written communication skills; flexibility, sense of humor, open-mindedness, and commitment to team work. Candidates are expected to contribute to the University's value of and commitment to student centeredness, academic excellence and diversity. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with virtual reference; undergraduate degree in the social sciences or humanities.
