service-oriented professional to fill an Academic Professional position in the
Reference & Library Instruction Unit of the Baylor University
Libraries.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The
E-Learning Librarian will design, create,
and facilitate the use of online instructional materials, tutorials, and other
digital learning objects. The
incumbent will serve as a resource for librarians designing and developing
library-related instruction. Responsibilities will also include providing
reference and research assistance, offering a variety of instructional services
to students and faculty, and serving as a liaison and collection development
consultant to assigned academic units.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This
position requires a master's
degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited program;
experience with web development applications and scripting languages;
familiarity with the concepts, goals, and methods of information literacy;
demonstrated understanding of current research on teaching and learning in
higher education; demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively in an
academic setting; and demonstrated skill using reference resources.
