PUBLIC SERVICES LIBRARIAN – NON TENURE TRACK – EVENING

 

The University of South Carolina Upstate seeks a Public Services Librarian, non-tenure track, 12-month appointment.  During fall and spring semesters, the hours are Sunday through Thursday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.  Reference desk coverage hours are 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and all day Sunday.  Hours will be different for summer sessions and during breaks and holiday periods.  Assists in closing the library each evening.  Primary duties are heavily concentrated in, but are not limited to: Reference, Collection Development and Information Literacy Instruction.  Appointment will be at the Instructor level and will begin July 1, 2007.  Reports to the Dean of the Library.

 

Requirements: An ALA accredited MLS; high interest in providing quality service; knowledge of print and electronic resources; ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff and others; excellent oral and written skills; strong commitment to client-centered services; prior library experience preferred, but not required.  Salary: $35,000/annually.
