POSITION
ANNOUNCEMENT
The
Required qualifications are: A bachelor’s degree at the time of
appointment; ability to communicate with and instruct a diverse population
about requirements for submission of theses and dissertations; ability and
experience in producing technical communications and developing and maintaining
web pages; strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint, Corel Word
Perfect, Adobe Acrobat and Go Live; Macromedia Dreamweaver, ftp software to
process electronic and archival copies of theses and dissertations; familiarity
with Microsoft Excel and Publisher, and Adobe Photoshop; excellent organizational
skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; and the ability to
function as part of a team.
Desired qualifications are: Master’s degree; knowledge of and
experience using html language and LaTeX; experience in publishing of technical
information, electronic documents, and knowledge of copyright restrictions;
experience in dealing with students face-to-face and by email.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: advising
students and faculty on formatting electronic theses and dissertations;
enforcing deadlines for graduation requirements; preparing informational
materials for students and faculty members; developing and conducting
workshops; assisting in organization of graduate commencement ceremonies;
collaborating with library staff on archiving and cataloging documents; and
assuring that theses and dissertations meet the requirements of the Graduate
Council.
