Assistant Professor/Cataloger --  Southeastern Louisiana University --
Louisiana
 

Library: Southeastern Louisiana University seeks candidates for the
position of Assistant Professor/Cataloger in Sims Memorial Library. 
This is a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant
Professor.  This Library is a member of LOUIS, a statewide consortium of
academic libraries utilizing SIRSI Unicorn software. Duties:
Responsible for original and complex copy cataloging in a variety of
formats.  Acts as a resource person for cataloging assistants.  Serves as
liaison to one or more academic departments.  Applicants must be committed
to working with diversity. Qualifications: Minimum requirements:
ALA-accredited MLS; familiarity with monographic cataloging; familiarity
with AACR2, LCSH, LC classification, and USMARC formats; awareness of
current trends and developments in cataloging, excellent verbal and
communication skills; ability to interact positively and productively with
library staff and with university students, staff, and faculty. 
Preferred: 1-2 years' experience in cataloging non-print media,
electronic resources, or music; experience in authority control and
database management; working knowledge of at least one Western European
