INFORMATION SCIENCES IN COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AT LSU AND A&M
COLLEGEThe Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS) Department at
Louisiana State University's E. J. Ourso College of Business is now
accepting applications for the Edward G. Schlieder Endowed Chair of
Information Science. Required Qualification: Ph.D. in ISDS or related
field. The holder of the Edward G. Schlieder Endowed Chair of Information
Science will be expected to play a leading role in the development and
growth of the ISDS Department, the E. J. Ourso College of Business, the
Center for Computation & Technology, and LSU. The holder of this endowed
chair would provide effective leadership in the following areas: providing
academic stewardship for the department's graduate programs including
advising and mentoring Ph.D. students; effectively teaching in the
department's graduate programs including the Ph.D. and M.B.A. programs,
and developing and enhancing the curriculum in information sciences;
conducting significant research in the field of information and decision
sciences and publication of the results of this research in
internationally recognized scholarly outlets. Research areas may include
but are not limited to geographic information systems, business process
modeling, healthcare informatics, economic development and economic
impacts of new technology, emergency/crisis management, technology
adoption, and computational approaches to decision making. The Chair
holder would also be expected to maintain personal visibility in
internationally respected academic organizations through participation in
professional symposia; service as an organizational officer, journal
editor, etc. Review of applications will begin immediately and will
continue through January 31, 2007, or until candidate is selected. An
