Head of Access Services

The University of Baltimore Langsdale Library seeks an innovative Head of
Access Services.  This position will provide leadership, organization, and
management of all services associated with this department including
circulation, reserves, inter-campus borrowing and lending, and stack
maintenance.  The library values a commitment to collaboration and
engagement in library, university and system initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in library science
from an ALA accredited program and a minimum of three years of experience
in managing access services or circulation in an academic environment with
evidence of innovation in such services.  Excellent planning and
communication skills, flexibility in a changing environment, a strong
commitment to user satisfaction, and experience working with a diverse
staff and clientele are essential qualifications.  A willingness to
participate in reference service on a limited basis, a second master's
degree, and experience in a consortia environment are definite pluses.
The library is part of the University System of Maryland and uses the
Aleph ILS and the Docutek electronic reserve system. 
The University of Baltimore is located in the heart of Baltimore's
cultural district and is committed to offering an innovative program of
learning.  The University is in the process of making the transition from
an upper-division and graduate institution to a full four-year
undergraduate and graduate program.
We offer excellent benefits with a salary range of $52,000 to $55,000.
