Assistant Professor - Archives, Records Management, and Preservation -- 
City University of New York Queens College -- New York
 

Queens College's Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, which
in addition to its MLS degree program offers a 12-credit certificate
program in Archives, Records Management, and Preservation, seeks a
tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2007, to teach archives
and manuscripts, preservation and conservation of materials, and the
history of books and print. In addition to these primary teaching
responsibilities, the successful candidate may be expected to assume
course responsibilities in the following areas; (1) organization of
information; (2) digitization of archival materials; (3) records
management; and (4) Information technology. Faculty are expected to
develop a research agenda that results in publications. The School expects
faculty participation in its affairs and service to the college and
profession as well.
A Ph.D. in library/information studies or any related discipline is
required by June 1, 2007. Preference will be given to candidates with a
record of publications and success in teaching at the graduate level.
Familiarity with the use of technology for teaching and learning is
desirable. The ability to communicate well orally and in writing with a
highly diverse graduate student body is required. 
Salary: $38,001-$66,292, commensurate with qualifications and
