Our client, a university located in MA is seeking a Web Development
Librarian.

The Web Development Librarian provides expertise in the analysis, design,
development and maintenance of university web sites and web applications.
In addition, s/he provides information architecture support for major
projects including: development of content standards for the enterprise
content management system; integrated library systems web interface;
digital initiatives projects and major web site re-design.

This person will also provide web programming and help to maintain the
functionality of library web sites, university web sites and associated
systems and participate in the development and deployment of web-based
initiatives in support of teaching, learning and scholarship activities.

Requirements for this position include:
Web development and database skills using industry standard tools,
applications and languages; Information architecture skills including
content analysis, wireframes, prototypes and user-centered design
concepts; technical skills in Unix, shell scripting, JavaScript, CSS,
database implementation, SQL and development languages; strong analytical
skills and communication skills; project management and facilitation
skills; proficiency in digital library standards for description, access,
delivery and preservation of digital objects (e.g. XML, XSL, HTML, Dublin
Core, MARC) and awareness of best practices; strong organizational and
interpersonal skills; the ability to work in a team environment;
experience with integrated library systems, digital initiatives, library
organizations, and academic settings.

A Master's degree in Library Science and 3-5 years of work experience are
also required. Some experience may be substituted for some of the
education.
