The specialist will support a variety of library technology projects, including the implementation of repository databases and image management. The new Research and Development Services Department will grow to five staff with programming, systems, web, and instructional design skills. Its activity is guided by an ambitious library strategic plan that gives priority to digital repository development, development of learning technology for information literacy, and collaborative digital projects. This includes local digital collection development, user-based web services, and assessment. Reporting to the Coordinator, Research and Development Department, the specialist will contribute to departmental planning, development of policy and procedures, investigation of new technologies, and assessment of departmental activities.
