Multiple Faculty Positions --  Adelphi University -- New York
 
ADELPHI UNIVERSITYFACULTY POSITIONS
Adelphi University, chartered in 1896, was the first institution of higher
education for liberal arts and sciences on Long Island. (Unless otherwise
indicated, all positions are Tenure Track, Assistant Professor, commencing
Fall, 2007; Ph.D. & teaching experience required).COLLEGE OF ARTS &
SCIENCESArt and Art History:Broadly-educated art historian with specialty
in Italian Renaissance & additional secondary specialization in Medieval &
Byzantine art & architecture. Emphasis on studio & workshop practices in
scholarship & pedagogy is preferred. Application Deadline: December 5,
2006.Biology: Field Ecologist Application Deadline: December 1,
2006Chemistry: Synthetic Organic Chemist at interface of chemistry &
biology sought to teach organic chemistry to undergraduates. Postdoctoral
experience preferred.Environmental Studies:Areas of interest should
include habitat sustainability, climate change, and/or environmental
impacts.French:Specialization in 19th/20th Century literature & culture,
with strong record of scholarship expertise in francophone
literature/culture desirable.Mathematics and Computer Sciences:Background
in biomathematics, combinatorics, computational mathematics, or geometry
especially desirable.Philosophy:2 positions - One in ancient philosophy &
one in political philosophy and/or philosophy of science. Application

Comparative Religion in Spring 2007.RUTH S. AMMON SCHOOL OF EDUCATIONAll
positions require doctoral degree in area specialty, or closely related
field. All appointments involve teaching at undergraduate and/or graduate
level (possibly at off-campus centers); research; student advisement;
program development & university service.Early Childhood Special
Education: Assistant/Associate Professor: At least 3 years of field &
classroom experience required.Special Education: Assistant/Associate
Professor: 2 Positions:Certification & 3 years of successful teaching
experience required. Work with culturally diverse populations
desirable.Literacy: Assistant/Associate Professor: Certification as
Literacy Specialist; B-12 teaching experience in elementary and/or
secondary literacy development.TESOL: Assistant/Associate Professor:K-12
TESOL teaching experience & foreign language proficiency preferred.Child
Literacy: Assistant/Associate Professor -STEP (Scholar Teacher Education
Program) K-6 teaching experience in elementary reading & literacy
development desirable.Foundations of Education: Assistant/Associate
Professor:K-12 teaching experience desired. Physical Education/Pedagogy:
Assistant/Associate Professor: 2 Positions 
Elementary Education -Science Methods Elementary Education -Social Studies
Methods: Assistant/Associate ProfessorSCHOOL OF NURSINGNursing Faculty, 6
Positions (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, rank and salary

Available:Doctorate in Social Work or allied field; MSW degree preferred.
