INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES LIBRARIAN/LECTURER
Randall Library, UNCW. The University of North Carolina Wilmington is a member institution of the University of North Carolina, and is nationally recognized for its marine sciences teaching and research programs, and for its strengths in arts and sciences, business, education, and nursing. The University is situated on a beautiful arboretum campus located in an historic port city within five miles of the Atlantic Ocean. The University currently enrolls approximately 12,200 students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This entry-level position is an opportunity for a knowledgeable and energetic librarian with a strong commitment to service to participate in instruction, reference and outreach services. The successful candidate will teach credit based undergraduate library courses and participate in course related instructional services in a variety of academic disciplines. Developing related web based materials is a major activity of this position. A willingness and ability to promote information literacy, library resources and services to faculty, students and other groups is a must. The duties of the position also include active participation in all reference functions, including evening and weekend reference service. The collaborative nature of the position requires a willingness to work in teams. Collection development and active participation in the development of library services are also required. Library faculty at UNCW engage in scholarship resulting in publication, conference presentation and other evidence of scholarly efforts. Reports to the Associate University Librarian for Public Services.

REQUIREMENTS: MLS/MILS degree from an ALA accredited program. Must have demonstrated experience or coursework in library instruction. Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills and a strong service orientation. Must have proficiency in the use of both traditional library materials and electronic information resources and the ability to work effectively in a highly automated and rapidly changing team based environment. Experience with web page design is also required. Preferred qualifications include reference experience.

SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary $36,000 or commensurate with labor market for this position. 11 month contract with faculty status (lecturer, nontenure track).
