DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH AND INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES --  Grand Valley State
University -- Michigan
 

Library: http://www.gvsu.edu/library. The Libraries at
Grand Valley State University are looking for a visionary leader to help
create dynamic, forward-thinking library services for a fast-growing
academic community. Six libraries located on three campuses house a
collection of over 32,000 online serials, hundreds of academic databases,
more than 600,000 print volumes, and extensive special collections and
archives. Newly reorganized to facilitate change, growth and innovation,
the Libraries are building a culture of collaboration, empowerment,
creativity, civility and fun, and we are looking for librarians who work
best in such an environment. The newly created position of Director of
Research and Instructional Services will head a division charged with
growing information services and collections that meet the needs of
students and faculty at Grand Valley, including online interfaces and
tools, information literacy, assessment strategies, creative and
sustainable reference services, collaborative relationships with academic
units, and robust online and print collections. Division consists of 23
librarians, 2 professional staff and 9 clerical staff and is growing.
Reports to the dean and serves as a member of the dean's library council.
Required Qualifications: MLS or equivalent degree from an
ALA-accredited institution; a minimum of five year's of management
experience; demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills.
Experience working in a multi-cultural environment preferred. Salary:
