EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Job Description Position: Youth Services Coordinator Classification: Librarian V Salary Track: P $41,475 - $61,464; plus benefits FLSA Status: Exempt Essential Functions * Collaborative Leadership * Effective coordination of system-wide youth services, programs and staff Responsibilities * Coordinates system-wide youth services and programs including organization, implementation, evaluation and modification. * Collaborates with Branch Managers, Children's and Young Adult Staff, Collection Development and other Library Departments including, but not limited to Outreach, Community Relations, and Human Resources. * Assists in budget preparation for youth materials, programs and supplies. * Participates in the selection, training and evaluation of district staff providing youth services; * Identifies ongoing staff training needs and recommends and/or conducts training to meet those needs. * Recommends policies and procedures affecting the delivery of youth programs and services. * Advises Children's Department Managers and Young Adult Associates. * Participates in Collection Development and maintenance of youth materials. * Acts as liaison between Library and community at events involving children and teens through effective presentations to schools, civic and community groups, and the media. * Represents Library as member of community organizations that serve children and teens. * Responds to customer complaints or concerns regarding youth materials, programs and services. * Prepares monthly reports for Executive Director and Branch Managers. * Serves as Chair of children and Young Adult Librarians' Committees; serves on other committees. * Is an active member of the Administrative Staff reporting to the Executive Director. * Attends work on a regular and dependable basis. * Interacts in a professional and respectful manner with district staff and the public; * Performs basic file keeping,clerical activities and other duties as assigned.
