Engineering and Physical Sciences Librarian --  Wichita State University
-- Kansas
 

Library: Engineering and Physical Sciences Librarian. Wichita State
University Libraries invites applications for the position of Engineering
and Physical Sciences Librarian.  Wichita State University, with an
enrollment of over 14,000, is located in a thriving metropolitan area of
600,000, recently named one of Kiplinger's 50 Smart Places to Live.  This
position is part of the Research Services Group, with subject liaison
responsibilities for the College of Engineering and the Departments of
Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Geology.  Other
responsibilities include collection development, research consultation,
instruction, general and digital reference, and creation of web-based
guides. Required Qualifications: ALA-accredited master's degree and
ability to work in the United States; excellent oral and written
communication skills; evidence of self-motivation and service orientation;
ability to work successfully in a collegial environment and with diverse
populations; knowledge of trends in academic libraries; knowledge of
trends in scholarly research and publishing in appropriate disciplines;
and demonstrated potential for meeting the Libraries' tenure and promotion
requirements. Preferred Qualifications:  Additional graduate degree in
an academic area related to the assignment, educational background or
work-related experience in an academic area related to the assignment, and
recent experience in an academic or specialized library in an area related
to the assignment. Salary and benefits:  Starting minimum salary of
$40,000 for 12-month contract; excellent professional development support,
vacation and benefits, including TIAA-CREF.  Librarians are tenure-track
