You'll find a special subscription offer at http://chronicle.com/4free/?ej _________________________________________________________________ - The text of the job listing is below - Dean of the School of Library and Information Management -- Emporia State University -- Kansas DEAN, LIBRARY AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT Emporia State University is seeking a Dean of the School of Library and Information Management to lead a dynamic program offering B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees to dispersed campuses through a variety of distance education options. Duties include leading a culturally diverse faculty and student body; motivating and supporting a high level of faculty performance in teaching, scholarship, and service; maintaining and expanding distance education opportunities; maintaining close relations with the academic community, alumni, professionals, and the local community; developing external sources of funding; and maintaining American Library Association accreditation. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate appropriate for leadership in library and information studies; a graduate degree in a library or information management discipline; substantial and pertinent higher education administrative experience; a vision for the roles of information professionals in a dynamically changing world; a commitment to serving lifelong learning needs of practicing professionals; a record of successful teaching, research, and service in higher education; and an entrepreneurial spirit.
