Library Assistant Director

Sullivan County Public Library is seeking an assistant director.  The assistant director will:

·         Provide professional and technical assistance to the Director

·         Assist in oversight of day-to-day operations including supervision of library staff

·         Participate in selection of library materials

·         Coordinate the research, application, implementation and observation of grants

·         Oversee the operation of the library’s automation system, including but not limited to managing and evaluating routine operations; planning & implementing improvements and upgrades to system, and purchasing new hardware & software

·         Oversee selection and usage of library databases

·         Monitor development, performance and maintenance of other library hardware and systems

·         Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree in Library Science & significant experience in library technology
