Library Director -- University of Florida -- Florida
Library: The Borland Library, a branch library of the UF Health
Science Center Libraries (HSCL), located in Jacksonville, seeks a director
to provide leadership in the development of innovative information services
in both clinical and academic health care. Responsibilities include
managing daily operations with 2 FTE librarians and 3 FTE library
technical assistants, strategic planning, and collection development.
This person also serves as Managing Director of the Jacksonville Area
Health Institutions Library Consortium and as a member of the HSCL
management team. Required: MLS or equivalent from an ALA accredited
library or information sciences program; 5 plus years as an academic or
hospital librarian; Ability to work collaboratively with library staff,
campus personnel and community constituents at all levels; excellent
communication skills, leadership ability, supervisory experience; and
ability to drive to Gainesville at least once/month. Desirable:
experience in identifying, writing, and securing funding or grant
opportunities, experience with strategic planning and with fiscal planning
and management, AHIP membership at senior or distinguished level.
Salary: $50,000 minimum. This position may be a non-tenure or tenure
track position and reports to the HSCL Director. Send cover letter,
