Furman University, one of the nation's top-ranked liberal arts colleges, is seeking a skilled administrator for the position of Associate Director of Libraries. Responsibilities: Exercises library-wide authority with broad administrative responsibilities in the areas of personnel administration, facilities management, and general administration. Advises and assists the Director in the overall management of the Libraries and directly supervises the Circulation Department. Requirements: ALA-accredited MLS. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Progressively responsible management experience including at least five years of academic library administration. A record of successful collaborations within the library and with other campus units. Ability to make informal and formal group presentations. An understanding of and commitment to a liberal arts education and the role of the library in serving the university community. Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in management and higher education. Desirable: Second master's degree.
