The Learning Coordinator is an integral member of the University of Vermont’s Tutoring Center and Upward Bound teams, working to build engaging, inclusive and equitable support for student academic success. The Coordinator hires, trains and supervises the Tutoring Center front desk staff, manages payroll and scheduling, and supports the online tutoring appointment scheduling platform. The Coordinator recruits peer tutors, designs and delivers training for front desk staff and tutors, and participates in program development, outreach, and assessment. As a member of the TRIO/Upward Bound team, the Coordinator works closely with staff and students in the Upward Bound summer college program, orienting staff and students, delivering educational and community-building programming, and supporting students’ preparation for college.
