Subject: UPDATE: 2019 NASPA Region II & III Joint Conference & Summer Symposium

Hello,

We want to extend an invitation for you to join us for the historic 2019 Region II & Region III Joint Summer Conference & Symposium  in Washington, DC, June 5-7, 2019! Our committee has been hard at work planning intentional experiences designed specifically for you! We are excited to share some of the components that will take place during this summer’s conference! Please see the information below:

Graduate Student and New Professional (GSNP) Welcome: Join us to kick-off your conference experience with a specific welcome that will provide you with a special keynote address, the opportunity to connect with other GSNP attendees, and receive tips and tricks to navigating the conference.

Resume Review & Interview Preparation: There will be two opportunities to sign up for a one-on-one meeting with a Senior Student Affairs Officer to get feedback on your resume and helpful hints for the interview process.

Socials: There will be three socials specific for Graduate Students and New Professionals! Come meet new colleagues and create new friendships from throughout the regions while exploring some of the best places D.C. has to offer!

Conference Guide: GSNP attendees will have the opportunity to sign up to have a conference guide (we will contact you after you register). Conference guides will be experienced Student Affairs Professionals that can offer you insight to navigating regional conferences, advice on starting your career in Student Affairs, and introduce you to a new network of professionals! You and your Conference Guide will be invited to a special program that will help you two connect while at the conference.

Real Talk Conversation Session: This session will provide GSNP members the chance to engage in real dialogue around some of the real life challenges and opportunities of the #SASearch in addition to navigating the transition to your first professional position.

NASPA Office Tour:  The NASPA staff are excited to host our new professionals and graduate students for a tour of the NASPA offices. Join us to learn more about NASPA’s history and network with some of the amazing NASPA staff members responsible for many of our projects and initiatives! This event is free. However, registration is required for planning purposes (TBA).

We encourage you to consider housing with American University (8 minutes away) which is almost 70% cheaper than the conference hotel.  The rates are $103.46/person/night for a suite style single occupancy and $86.21/person/night for a suite style double occupancy. See the conference website for more information.

We look forward to having you join us in Washington DC for this groundbreaking collaboration!

If you have questions, feel free to contact either one of us.

Graduate Student and New Professionals Co-Chairs
