*****Female Volunteers Needed For Research****
Female Veterans Sought for Study on Family-School Communication
Carolyn Davis, a graduate student in the Department of Education at Liberty University, seeks participants in a study that describes the experiences of female soldiers with parental involvement and school staff during a military deployment. Results from this study will be published in Davis’s dissertation. This study seeks female veterans that experienced a military deployment during OEF/OIF with school aged children.
If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete an online Parental Involvement Questionnaire and a possible face to face interview. The questionnaire should take approximately 15 minutes to complete and the interview should last approximately one hour. The interview will be audio recorded. If selected for the face to face interview, you will receive a $25.00 Amazon gift card at the completion of the interview. Your participation in this study will be confidential and no personal identifying information will be used in the reporting of the data.
If you are interested in participating in this study, please email the researcher at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or contact by phone at 865-850-0923. The researcher will contact you to complete the questionnaire and schedule an interview.
An informed consent document will be sent to you before completing the questionnaire. The informed consent document contains additional information about my research. Your participation is completely voluntary and you may withdraw at any time during the study.
Thank You,
Carolyn Davis
****HGTV Looking For A Veteran In Need*****
Please see the attached flyer regarding the following information; Also attached is the application.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Please see the note below from Annette Brun, “a board member for Rebuilding Together Knoxville, one of nearly 200 Rebuilding Together affiliates across the country whose mission is to help low income homeowners (elderly, disabled and veterans) with repairs and accessibility modifications. www.rebuilingtogether.org<http://www.rebuilingtogether.org>.” The organization wants to identify a Knox County veteran who needs help with “home repairs, enhancements or accessibility updates”. There are selection criteria in the attached material, especially with respect to income level and the requirement that the person own the home that will be repaired or enhanced. The group wants to get the work done during the Medal of Honor convention, so they need to identify possible candidates in the next few days. If we can provide a few names, then the group should be able to determine who best meets their criteria. Any suggested names you can provide would be welcome. Please send them to my attention, and I will forward them to Ms. Brun.
Thank you all for your assistance.
