24th ANNUAL GEOMETRY FESTIVAL IN HONOR OF DETLEF GROMOLL

The 24th Annual Geometry Festival, hosted by Duke and UNC, will be held at 
the Department of Mathematics at Stony Brook University from Friday,
April 17 to Sunday, April 19, 2009.

This year's festival will be held in honor of

                 DETLEF GROMOLL

Everyone is invited to the Geometry Festival, and graduate students are
especially encouraged to attend.  A continuing grant from the National 
Science Foundation makes it possible for us to partially reimburse the 
expenses of a large number of graduate students, post-docs and younger 
faculty who do not have access to travel funds from other sources.
A substantial portion of this funding can be committed in advance, and 
experience shows that additional funds for this purpose are usually 
available after conference expenses have been met.

     Accommodations...we are holding a block of rooms at several area 
hotels.

     A list of participants will be posted approximately one week before
the beginning of the conference.

     The web site will remain in place after the Geometry Festival is
over, so that you can refer to it for information about, and
links to, future Festivals.
