If you aren't too worn out from Thursday's (4-15) meeting (and you ARE coming
to Thursday's meeting, aren't you?), you can observe one of PRSA's famous
Socratic dialogues via the Internet beginning at 3:30 p.m. It will be
transmitted in RealAudio/RealVideo. Go to www.usc.edu/schools/annenberg, then
click on @annenberg. Topic is "When Activists Act Up," and is a hypothetical
situation in which a promotional products company that does business in Asia
where child labor may be used is attacked by activists for its sponsorship of
a children's movie. The session will be moderated by Charles Nesson of Harvard
Law School; participants dealing with the issue come from Mattel Toy Corp.,
NIKE, Disney, the Ethics Commission of the Annenberg School of Communication,
the California Commission of Consumer Affairs, the entertainment industry, and
the Asian Pacific American Center. Should be most interesting if you have time
to watch.
