Well, as long as Susan is going to hold open the door, I guess I'll leap
through it.
This is a bit different, but I joined the list because of my interest in
fund development (aka fund raising) for nonprofit organizations. Though
the closest I've come to a career in PR is my journalism degree (I went to
law school after that), I've built several fund raising programs for
nonprofit hospitals, universities, and other organizations. One of my
first recruitment tasks is for a public relations professional, whom I
typically hire not in that role, but as director of development. I've
brought quite a few PR professionals into the fund development field.
Because of that, I have found the threads here quite interesting, though I
have relatively little to constibute myself.
If there are folks here who work in, or might want to work in, the
nonprofit fund development arena, though, I invite you to join any of the
12 discussion forums I host. My forums reach anywhere from 4,000 to 10,000
fund development professionals each day, mostly in the USA and Canada. If
you are interested in learning more, visit my web site (reference below).
