Good afternoon Vols and Getting Around UT newsletter audience

I was asked by Athletics today to send out a notice about expected traffic congestion near the arena starting around 4 p.m. when the special event lots open.

A blast email is going out at 3 p.m. (it only goes out hourly) to the following staff permit holders - 5, 9, 30, 21, 23, 24, 28, G1, G2, Staff Accessible, and an FYI for 12 in case anyone exits to the south. The message is below.

I am sorry that Getting Around UT has not been published recently.

Thank you for your patience and being connect to UT Knoxville

Have a wonderful evening

Moira

Hello Vols Faculty and Staff

(Specifically this message is for anyone who usually exits campus via Lake Loudoun Blvd and Neyland Dr)

TRAFFIC ALERT Feb 28, 2024

We anticipate heavier traffic starting around 4 p.m. near Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center.

Vols Basketball (#4) vs Auburn (#11) is SOLD OUT and we expect a large crowd to cheer on the Vols. Game time is 7 p.m. and will be aired on ESPN2.

PLEASE avoid the Phillip Fulmer Way, Lake Loudoun Blvd, Chamique Holdsclaw Dr, and Neyland Dr intersections late this afternoon.

Ag Campus Shuttle buses will start at 5 p.m. and drop guests at the corner of Lake Loudoun and Chamique Holdsclaw which will add to the congestion.

I search Google Maps for directions when exiting campus to see the traffic impact on the commute home.

Thank you
Moira
