Subject: New Book, Basics and Trends in Sensitivity Analysis: Theory
and Practice in R

Basics and Trends in Sensitivity Analysis: Theory and Practice in R
by Sebastien Da Veiga, Fabrice Gamboa, Bertrand Iooss, and Clementine
Prieur

This book provides an overview of global sensitivity analysis methods
and algorithms, including their theoretical basis and mathematical
properties. The authors use a practical point of view and real case
studies as well as numerous examples, and applications of the
different approaches are illustrated throughout using R code to
explain their usage and usefulness in practice. A lot of material is
covered, including screening techniques devoted to identifying
influential and noninfluential inputs, and theoretical aspects of
Sobol' indices as well as sampling-based formulas, spectral methods,
and metamodel-based approaches for estimation purposes.

academia and industry, students of mathematical sciences, as well as
those with an interest in the subject. It will feature plenary talks
from distinguished speakers covering a wide range of subjects, as well
as activities to allow for interaction among the attendees and
speakers. This is a perfect opportunity to learn about fascinating
areas of mathematics (and their applications) from people that work on
them, whilst also providing you the chance to become more involved
with a professional body of mathematics. There will be plenty of time
to network during the conference at our Virtual Coffee Breaks,
allowing you the opportunity to meet people with similar interests and
find out more about the wide range of careers that are available.

Invited Speakers and Talk Titles: Eugenie Hunsicker: Starting
interdisciplinary collaborations; Shamia Sanjania: Women in Maths: The
Ownership of a Mathematical Identity; Rachael Addy; Karrie Liu: Using
mathematics to help charities as a freelancer; and Claire Cornock:
Shaking up teaching and assessment design: a quest for inclusivity.

The Early Career Mathematicians' (ECM) Branch is designed for those
with a maths degree who are within the first 15 years of graduating,
or, those without a degree who are within the first 15 years of
membership. The ECM group has been set up to engage and empower ECM,
and students of mathematics at university, to provide them with
support and an opportunity to network.

Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Artificial Neural Networks,
Convolutional Graph Neural Networks

The emergence of vast amounts of unlabeled, non-euclidean, data have
motivated a relatively recent interest in the development of novel
algorithms for learning from many different kinds of knowledge
representations such as graphs, where the knowledge is represented in
the form of vertices and edges between them. This kind of data appears
frequently in the cybersecurity domain and especially in the detection
of abnormal behaviour in computer networks. In the cybersecurity area
we may encounter graphs with a large number of vertices, nodes and
complex dynamics. Therefore, novel and efficient algorithms for
learning from graphs are of paramount importance. In the graph
domain, there are several interesting tasks from a machine learning
perspective, such as: node level prediction, edge level prediction or
graph level prediction of some interesting properties. In addition,
the data itself can provide more or less useful information depending
on the application, for example: node level features, edge level
features or graph level features. From a different perspective, we may
have the transductive setting, in which the graphs in the data set
share the same structure or the inductive setting in which the graph
structure changes in time. We are interested in the development novel
Graph Neural Network approaches to deal with complex networks (graphs
with a large number of vertices and edges). Our goal is to be able to
detect abnormal behavior in computer networks in order to provide
security by design in a number of industrial applications.
