Sent to all CCI graduate students.
There has been a lot of conversation about this, and I will not clog your emails with the updates. Essentially, please be aware that there are problems with the wireless system. If your WIFI isn't working, give it a few minutes and try again. I'm aware this has an impact on classes held via Zoom. Please contact your instructor if you have questions about class.
OIT is very aware of the impact wireless outages have on students. They will fix it as soon as possible. I won't send any more updates unless necessary. (And am hoping they fix it soon!) The message below originated from OIT.
Best,
Margaret Taylor

Subject: [CCI-FACSTAFF] More from OIT on the wi-fi issues
Campus-wide Wireless Issues
We continue to investigate the intermittent campus-wide wireless issues. Last week, an existing software flaw was brought to light by increased campus traffic at the start of classes. Our wireless vendor recommended a software upgrade on Wednesday evening, August 25, based on reports from similar institutions experiencing the same issues. This upgrade appear to have stabilized the campus wireless infrastructure, and by Thursday morning, August 26, wireless connectivity appeared to be back to regular operation. Unfortunately, similar issues reappeared earlier today, August 30. We understand the importance of being connected at all times and apologize for the inconvenience. We continue to work with our vendor to understand and remediate the root cause of these issues.
