Thanks Beth - I think it may have already been done. Yes we are all
well - survived the pandemic with no illness or job loss, although my
daughter was a long-hauler with ongoing health issues for almost a year
after she was sick last March (never confirmed as covid). We were very
lucky here in that we managed to keep K-12 schools open for students
with reduced class sizes, staggered starting and ending times and some
hybrid virtual/face-to-face models for grades 9-12. I am looking
forward to my second shot next week and by the end of July everyone in
my extended family should be fully vaccinated. Universities and
colleges will be back face-to-face in Sept. with some virtual classrooms
to continue until Jan. to accommodate international students who may be
slower with their vaccinations, which will be required to stay in
residence and some are pushing to be required for registration. Things
are looking better and we all hope this will be a good summer. My
daughter went camping last weekend (first time in two years) and she
said it was crowded but absolutely wonderful. I hope you and your
family have fared well during these trying times and are healthy and
getting back to normal.
I have a question - will the link to the website for BioTAP change?
Kathy Nomme and I have written a guide for new TAs (based on our TA
training experience), which is in the final editing stages and we cite
the website as a useful resource. The book will be available as a free
download as well as in hard copy and we hope it will be useful to many
in Canada, the US and beyond.
