now take place ONLINE from December 7 to 12, 2020. The purpose of the
conference is to bring together mathematicians, computational
scientists and engineers who work in the main themes of Domain
Decomposition, including theoretical, algorithmic and implementation
aspects of domain decomposition methods, solvers for multiphysics
problems, parallel-in-time methods, multigrid and multilevel methods,
fast solvers and preconditioning, and applications of such methods in
physics and engineering.

We are now re-opening the call for proposals of minisymposia and
contributed talks that fit the themes of DD26. Proposals should be in
the form of a plain text e-mail to [log in to unmask] For
minisymposia, please provide a title, a short description of the
subject matter, and a list of speakers for the minisymposium.

Minisymposia may span one or more sessions, with each session
consisting of four 25-minute talks, with an additional 5 minutes after
each talk for questions. For contributed talks, please provide a title
an abstract. Deadline for proposal submission: September 20, 2020.

Please note that all minisymposia and contributed talks that were
approved for last December are automatically accepted. Minisymposium
organizers will soon receive an e-mail asking if they want to keep
their sessions, and whether there are any changes to the list of
speakers. Speakers from accepted contributed talks will also be asked
to confirm their participation via e-mail.

Thanks to the generous support of the Hong Kong Peihua Education
Foundation, we are now accepting applications for financial support,
including registration fee, from graduate students, postdocs and
junior faculty based in Mainland China. To be considered for funding,
please email a cover letter, including a statement about why you want
to participate, along with a CV to [log in to unmask] Deadline for
submissions: September 30, 2020.

From: Bernie J. Daigle, Jr. [log in to unmask]
Date: August 16, 2020
Subject: PhD Position, Computational Systems Biology, Univ of Memphis

Experimental biologists are generating data at an unprecedented rate.
Unfortunately, biological insight has not kept pace with this deluge
of data. The goal of my lab is to improve the inference of biological
meaning from the wealth of experimental data collected from single
cells to whole organisms. To do so, we develop sophisticated
statistical and computational tools that enable integrated analyses of
noisy, heterogeneous datasets. More information on the lab can be
found at http://daiglelab.org.

Openings are available for students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in
computational systems biology starting Spring 2021. Our research in
this area involves developing and applying computational methods for
inferring gene regulatory networks (GRNs) from single-cell gene
expression data. Current projects include applying deep learning
techniques to rapidly and accurately infer GRNs from single-cell
RNA-sequencing data.

The successful candidate should be highly motivated and have some
Python programming experience. Prior research experience in
bioinformatics and/or computational biology is desirable. Details
about admission and degree requirements can be found at
http://www.memphis.edu/biology/graduate (PhD, Biological Sciences).
Applicants must apply to both The University of Memphis Graduate
School and the corresponding graduate program. To ensure full
consideration, applications should be completed by September
15. Accepted students will be considered for a graduate assistantship.

If interested, please first email Dr. Daigle ([log in to unmask])
your CV and a concise statement describing your interest in the
position, previous research experience, and relevant coursework.
