This volume presents cutting edge research from the frontiers of
functional equations and analytic inequalities active fields. It
covers the subject of functional equations in a broad sense, including
but not limited to the following topics:

Hyperstability of a linear functional equation on restricted domains;
Hyers-Ulam's stability results to a three point boundary value problem
of nonlinear fractional order differential equations; Topological
degree theory and Ulam's stability analysis of a boundary value
problem of fractional differential equations; General Solution and
Hyers-Ulam Stability of Duo Trigintic Functional Equation in
Multi-Banach Spaces; Stabilities of Functional Equations via Fixed
Point Technique; Measure zero stability problem for the Drygas
functional equation with complex involution; Fourier Transforms and
Ulam Stabilities of Linear Differential Equations; Hyers-Ulam
stability of a discrete diamond-alpha derivative equation; Approximate
solutions of an interesting new mixed type additive- quadratic-quartic
functional equation.

The diverse selection of inequalities covered includes Opial, Hilbert-
Pachpatte, Ostrowski, comparison of means, Poincare, Sobolev, Landau,
Polya-Ostrowski, Hardy, Hermite-Hadamard, Levinson, and complex
Korovkin type. The inequalities are also in the environments of
Fractional Calculus and Conformable Fractional Calculus. Applications
from this book's results can be found in many areas of pure and
applied mathematics, especially in ordinary and partial differential
equations and fractional differential equations. As such, this volume
is suitable for researchers, graduate students and related seminars,
and all science and engineering libraries. The exhibited thirty six

Subject: Scientific Software Developer Position, Univ Maryland/Princeton

The Hidden Symmetries and Fusion Energy project is seeking a
scientific software developer. Our multi-institution initiative,
funded by the Simons Foundation, is working to build a mathematical
and computational foundation for the design of stellarators for
magnetic plasma confinement. Our team is highly multidisciplinary;
further information about the Hidden Symmetries project can be found
at https://hiddensymmetries.princeton.edu

The central responsibility of the software developer will be to
develop the SIMSOPT software infrastructure, providing interfaces to
multiple physics codes and optimization libraries. As part of this
work, the new developer will be expected to incorporate testing
frameworks and write code documentation. The project may also include
modernization of some existing physics codes, for example integrating
new boundary element solvers written by other team members. The
location for the position is flexible, but it would be based at one of
the collaboration's member institutions, such as the University of
Maryland (College Park) or Princeton University. For full
consideration, applications should be received by 1/2/20. Questions
can be directed to Matt Landreman ([log in to unmask]).

Full information and official application at:
https://ejobs.umd.edu/postings/75351

The scientific software used by our team is primarily written in
Fortran, C++, and python, so candidates must be proficient in these
languages, and knowledge of mixed-language programming is an
advantage. Candidates must have experience with MPI; experience with
other parallel programming models is also desirable.

Subject: Postdoc Position, Ergodic theory/functional analysis, Univ of Memphis

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Memphis
(UofM) invites applications for a two-year post-doctoral position in
Analysis (with the possibility of renewal for a third year-pending
budgetary allocations) beginning Fall 2020. Preference will be given
to candidates in ergodic theory or functional analysis, especially
those whose research programs and interests are compatible with
current UofM faculty in those two areas.

Candidates must have received a Ph.D. within the last 3 years;
demonstrate potential for excellence in research; and have a
commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. The teaching load
will be three semester courses per year. Salary is competitive and
includes benefits. For full consideration, applicants must complete an
on-line application at https://workforum.memphis.edu/ . Documents
required include an AMS coversheet, curriculum vitae, teaching
statement, research statement, and three letters of
recommendations. At least one of the letters should address the
teaching ability and experience of the applicant. Additionally, a
brief statement giving the applicant's motivation for coming to the
UofM should be included. It is suggested that the applicants
familiarize themselves with our faculty at
https://www.memphis.edu/msci/people/index.php so that they may be sure
of their alignment.

Review of applications will begin January 10, 2020 and may continue
until the position is filled. The UofM is an equal opportunity
affirmative action employer. We urge all qualified applicants to apply
for this position. Appointment will be based on qualifications as they
relate to position requirements without regard to race, color,
national origin, religion, age, sex, disability or veteran
status. Successful candidates must meet guidelines of the Immigration
Reform and Control Act of 1986. Questions should be addressed to the
Chair of the Search Committee, Dr. James Campbell, at

The Numerical Analysis group in the Department of Applied Mathematics
at Delft University of Technology is offering a 1-year Postdoc
position in the field of quantum computer simulation technologies.

The overarching goal of this curiosity-driven research project is to
develop a GPU-accelerated quantum computer simulator for the efficient
and reliable simulation of many-qubit quantum algorithms beyond the
limits of today's simulators. The main focus is on developing
customized number systems that are tailored to the particular demands
of gate-based quantum computer simulation and at the same time exploit
the compute capabilities of modern GPUs.

The successful applicant will work within a team of researchers
working on various aspects of quantum-accelerated numerical linear
algebra.

Applications are invited for 14 PhD positions ("Early Stage
Researchers") to be funded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative
Training Network "Joint Training on Numerical Modelling of Highly
Flexible Structures for Industrial Applications [THREAD]" within the
Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission.

THREAD is a consortium of 12 high-profile universities, research
institutions and companies located in Austria, Belgium, Croatia,
France, Germany, Norway, Slovenia and Spain, and addresses the
mechanical modelling, mathematical formulations and numerical methods
for highly flexible slender structures like yarns, cables, hoses or
ropes that are essential parts of high performance engineering
systems. The project brings mechanical engineers and mathematicians
together around major challenges in industrial applications and
open-source simulation software development.

It establishes an innovative modelling chain starting from detailed 3D
modelling and experimental work to build validated 1D nonlinear rod
models, which are then brought to a system level simulation thanks to
the outstanding numerical properties of the developed algorithms. This
holistic approach combines advanced concepts in experimental and
theoretical structural mechanics, non-smooth dynamics, computational
geometry, discretisation methods and geometric numerical integration.

The 14 researchers are employed on fixed-term, full-time employment
contracts and will work on their own research projects in THREAD with
the aim to obtain a doctoral degree. The salary is paid in accordance
with the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Programme regulations for Early Stage
Researchers. Funding for 36 months employment is available.

Deadline for applications: January 15, 2020

Further information and instructions on how to apply can be found at
